2005-2010

Foundation and U.S. Market Entry

  • 2005: ImMODO Solar founded in Madrid, Spain. This company would later become RIC Energy.
  • 2010: Entry into the U.S. market, establishing a foothold in California.

2010-2019

Vertical Integration and Growth

  • RIC Energy established as a successful solar PV project developer and turnkey EPC and O&M service provider.
  • Developed, built, and sold 33 projects totaling 60 MW in multiple states to investors including MacQuarie, DE Shaw, Panasonic, AES, American Electric Power, Sol Systems and SolRiver Capital, among others.

2020

Development Focus

  • HQ moved from California to New York.
  • Strategic focus placed on project development phase and on the New York State Community Solar market.

New York Market Dominance

  • First RIC New York Community Solar project commences construction after sale to Goldman Sachs.
  • 50th project site in New York acquired.

2022

Geographic Expansion and Strategic Diversification

  • Expansion into 11 new U.S. states.
  • Diversification into utility-scale solar and energy storage.
  • Entry into the green hydrogen market.

2023

Canadian Expansion and New York Community Solar Growth

  • RIC Energy expands into Canada, establishing 500 MW foothold in Alberta.
  • Luminace, a division of Brookfield, and a New York IPP acquires 36 MW of community solar projects in New York.

2024

Major Portfolio Transactions

  • Radial Power and a New York IPP acquire 51 MW of community solar projects across New York State.
  • RIC Energy partners with Rosemawr to fund interconnection deposits for 450+ MW of solar and battery energy storage system projects in New York.
  • Moved into new 17 State Street headquarters overlooking Battery Park and New York Harbor.
